201 health workers test positive Of coronavirus in Edo

A total of 201 health workers have tested positive for coronavirus in Edo State.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Patrick Okundia, announced this on Monday during COVID-19 briefing in Benin City, the State capital.

Okundia urged health workers to follow safety precautions when treating any patient.

He reiterated the government’s commitment towards the protection and welfare of the state frontline workers risking their lives on the line to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

The commissioner commended the workers, assuring that the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration will not relent in ensuring the welfare of the state’s health workforce.

“Over 50 per cent of COVID-19 deaths recorded so far in the state falls within the age category of the population.

“A total of 201 health workers tested positive for coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic in the state.

“Edo has recorded a total of 805 discharged persons, 6,470 suspected cases, 1,383 confirmed cases and 47 deaths,” he added.

  2. This is serious o! How will those taken care of the patients be affected by the covid-19 , definitely they are not really safe over there
