Ogun PDP elects new Chairman

The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday, elected a new State Chairman.

He is Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele.

Ogundele became the new PDP Chairman for Ogun State, having won an election held during today’s state congress at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.

Speaking, the Chairman of Ogun PDP electoral committee, Deji Ogunsakin, informed that the ward and local government congresses had earlier been conducted.

Ogunsakin said the state congress was peaceful, adding that it was held under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as security agencies.

In his words, the former State Chairman, Bayo Dayo, said he had been mandated by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to ensure a new executive of the party emerges today.

Dayo said there is no more faction in the Ogun State chapter of the PDP, saying the congress has indicated there was genuine reconciliation.

According to him, everybody in the PDP has come together under one umbrella.

Reacting, the new Chairman, Ogundele, assured members of what he called “an all-inclusive party administration.”
