These vitamins are important for the metabolism and the transformation of food into energy, the production of blood cells and the proper functioning of the immune system, with which their Absence or deficiency of these vitamins can have serious repercussions and often cause symptoms such as fatigue, tingling, pain, anemia, inflammation and even paralysis and loss of sensitivity.

This drug can be found mainly in two types of presentations: in the form of tablets for consumption orally (usually to be taken with food) or in injectable form for administration intramuscular. In the latter you can find pre-filled syringes with double chambers or ampoules in which the content to be injected is found.

It is metabolized in the liver (in the case of vitamin B12 it is also stored in that organ) and is eliminated mainly through the kidneys in the case of vitamins B1 and B6, while through the bile in the case of the B12.

Main uses and indications

There are many conditions that can be alleviated or benefit from the administration of Neurobion.

As a multivitamin complex that it is, one of the most frequent indications is in states of deprivation, deficiency or lack of the vitamins that compose it, which in turn can be associated with different terms.

Among these conditions we can find, only if there is a deficit of vitamins B1, B6 and B12, the following: anemia (as long as it is of a type in which there is a deficit of the aforementioned vitamins, otherwise it would be contraindicated), restrictive diets (for example in anorexia), suffering from infections and weakening of the immune system, chronic alcoholism or elderly people (although in this case with caution). Also diabetic people could have it indicated if they have a deficit of this group of vitamins.

Besides that, Another of its main indications is in the treatment of different types of neuropathies or alterations of the nervous system, either by inflammation or compression. In this sense, its role in the treatment of neuralgia and neuritis stands out, which usually cause pain, paresthesia and tingling due to the involvement of different nerve fibers.

For example, the various diabetic neuropathies, sciatica or intercostal neuralgia are included. It is also indicated in cases of muscle aches and cramps, gout or low back pain.

Side effects

Despite being a multivitamin complex, Neurobion is still a drug, the use of which may carry some risks and lead to the appearance of adverse reactions. This is especially relevant when it is used in excess or if it is consumed without there being a deficit in these vitamins, given that if there are excess vitamins, they can have harmful effects.

In this sense and although in an unusual way, some of the side effects can be allergic reactions, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, eczema (in some cases necrosis at the injection site) or alterations in urination (red urine, this is a condition called chromaturia).

In prone subjects, it can contribute to the appearance of gout, and can sometimes cause neurological symptoms. In exceptional cases (although existing) they can cause colitis, bleeding, insomnia, liver and / or kidney problems or seizures, as well as anemia reactions and low platelets and leukocytes.

Contraindications

Neurobion, although useful in helping to prevent or combat some conditions and discomforts, It can have harmful effects like the previous ones and is contraindicated for some sectors of the population.

Specifically, it is contraindicated in pregnant women (in excess it can affect neuronal development and even produce dependence) and infants, in addition to those with kidney or liver failure. Neither should those allergic and hypersensitive to these vitamins, nor people suffering from tobacco addiction (lazy eye), Leber's disease or being treated with levodopa (a drug frequently used for example to treat symptoms parkinsonians).

It is also contraindicated for those under fourteen years of age, and it is especially prohibited in children under the age of fourteen. three (since in them it can be toxic and sometimes cause severe respiratory problems and potentially mortal). It can interact with different drugs, often reducing their effects.

Among them are altretamine, the aforementioned levodopa, contraceptives, immunosuppressants, anti-tuberculosis or antihypertensive drugs. For this reason, the suitability of its consumption should be consulted with the doctor.
