Currently the majority of the adult population owns a car, which is practically essential for everyone. Automobiles are relatively new inventions in human history, but it is very difficult for us to conceive of a world without these vehicles. Stage of the invention of the automobile.

To talk about the history of automobiles we must define the 7 stages into which it is divided: from its inception to the present, the first of these stages being the so-called "stage of invention".

To know the creation of the car we must talk about Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot, the first person to try to adapt the steam engine system to a vehicle. Cugnot created a first steam-powered vehicle that was impossible to drive, and shortly afterwards built another vehicle that could drag almost 5 tons of weight, which was also not able to be driven in a safe.

Slowly the inventors were perfecting the techniques to get a car that works properly, each adding a new innovation that today seems common to us in cars, for example vehicles of William Murdoch or Richard Trevithick which were the first to have a handbrake and a steering wheel.

Many years after trying to get a car that would run on the steam engine, it was Lenoir who got create the first car that would work perfectly thanks to the internal combustion engines. Soon after, the German Karl Benz created the first modern automobile, that is, the first vehicles that ran on gasoline. That is why Karl Benz is considered one of the great creators of the automobile.

Veteran stage in the history of the car.

The second stage of this automobile history is the "veteran stage", characterized by the increased marketing of automobiles.

To the early 20th century The large-scale production of automobiles began in France and the United States, which saw the sale of the vehicles as a great long-term business. The first companies to make automobiles were Renault and Panhard et Levassor, both French.

Shortly after the mighty Henry Ford created the assembly line for automobile production, a revolution that allowed him to build more vehicles than the competition and that made him one of the richest people in the United States.

Brass stage.

This stage was characterized by the fact that the cars used the brass as a material for car bodies, receiving the name of the stage of this characteristic. The cars were also characterized by having a shape similar to the old horse carriages.

The stage was understood between 1905 and 1914, ending when the start of the First World War changed the priorities of world society.

Vintage or vintage stage

This period begins after the First World War and ends in 1929 during the Great Depression. The most characteristic cars of the time are those that had the engine in the front and closed cars, being little used open cars that in previous years had been widely used. At this time, certain cars began to become fashionable, currently being collector cars. Some of these cars were el Austin 7 and Ford T.

Prewar stage

This stage begins with the Great Depression and ends with the end of the Second World War. Fully closed and rounded cars become more used, and in addition the rear compartment to store luggage emerges. Some of the most important cars of this era are Ford B, the Bugatti 57 and the famous “Beetle”.

Postwar stage

This stage begins after the Second World War and is characterized by the great development of cars, getting much better engines, both in efficiency and less pollution. It is a very important time for the industry in the USA, country that was very little affected by the war, becoming fashionable air conditioning and automatic transmission among other improvements.

Modern stage

The last stage of this summary of the history of the automobile. This stage can be located in the last 30 years, with the appearance of great improvements in vehicles, especially thanks to electronics. Another important factor in this stage is the appearance of the diesel engine, its use having become very widespread, especially in the European market.
