Difference between sound and noise
The difference between sound and noise lies in the disharmony in the second. Sound obeys a distinguishable pattern while noise is an anomaly with no apparent patterns.
The word sound comes from Latin sonitus which means noise or roar. It is only recently that we make a distinction between the two terms.
On physical, for example, define sound as wave set that are diffused as a physical state (liquid, solid and gaseous) that causes pressure and density variations, different from the noise that is irregular and mismatched between the fundamental tones and their harmonics.
Sound can be distinguished from noise by its pleasant or unpleasant quality. Sound is often used to describe something pleasant, such as the sound of rain or the sound of music. Noise is used to underline something that creates a violent impact, such as car noise or construction noise.
In phonetics, sounds are also differentiated from noises. Phonetics is made up of sounds produced by each organ, such as the vocal cords, the nose, etc. Instead, the use of onomatopoeia are noises produced to resemble an animal or thing.
Sound
The sound differ in three aspects: timbre, intensity and duration. The timbre is synonymous with the tone of voice, the intensity is the volume of the sound and the duration is the time.
Noise
Noise can be divided into three types: continuous, intermittent and impact noise. Noise, in the area of telecommunications, communications and physics, is defined as a disturbance.
In telecommunications, noise is an anomaly in the signal, while in communications noise is the factor that prevents clarity to understand speech, and in physics, on the other hand, it is a segment of waves irregular.
