What is the welfare state. We are going to start by giving the hard definition, then we will explain it. In fact, the welfare state is a concept of political and economic sciences with which a political proposal or general model of the state is designated. According to which it is the state that must provide services in compliance with social rights to all of its inhabitants. So that we understand each other, it is a set of actions that the state does through the governments that seek give greater attention to the redistribution of wealth, seeking the general welfare of the entire population. That is, governments try to do a type of action so that the country's wealth is redistributed so that all inhabitants can enjoy free healthcare, free education... and many other services. That is, the government has income with which (putting them here or there) makes services fundamental, as we said health (for example), are available free of charge to the entire population of that government. We already know what it is but... how is this state of well-being achieved? Well... the government intervenes in the economy of the country and society, seeking a better redistribution of wealth. The government controls and insures; pensions, orphan's benefits, unemployment, widowhood... it also ensures a quality education (universal and free), that people can reach culture... how is it implemented? The main route of redistribution of wealth is through taxes and fees.
