Psychologist Marta Rodríguez Seco
When I had to decide what I wanted to train in, I knew that psychology was my vocation. I didn't know what the path was going to be like or where it was going to take me, but I knew that I wanted to dedicate myself to helping people through difficult times. During my degree, the field of clinical psychology caught my attention. Knowing and understanding the different problems of the human being, as well as giving him the tools he needs to achieve his well-being, increased my motivation to continue training. I did the master's degree that enabled me to offer therapy and I also learned other perspectives that little by little made me grow as a psychologist. That is how, after finishing it, I started working in various clinics in Madrid. I had the pleasure of accompanying and guiding my patients in person for several years. The arrival of the well-known pandemic forced us to change the format from face-to-face to online. At first a feeling of uncertainty appeared but over time I saw that my patients were getting the same results.
Convinced that constant training is essential to always be up to date with the latest advances in this science, I combined the work with the completion of the postgraduate course «Expert in Evaluation and Psychological Intervention with Children and Adolescence". I was able to delve even deeper into the difficult processes that people go through at these ages and I understood that they can be drag during adulthood if not treated in time, assuming an emotional burden on the life of the person.
