Stress response

In this BIOLOGY video we will explain "Stress response".

We are going to outline how our response to stress occurs. First of all clarify something; Stress is a word that we know for its negative and destructive connotations. Limiting in the life of a person. However... a degree of stress is essential for life. We need to be in a certain tension with the environment that surrounds us in order to respond to the demands that it demands of us. To mobilize our energy, activate our attention. Thanks to that we get out of bed and take care of our children, we go to work or we watch this video to prepare for an exam... anything or challenge that we feel we have to activate to get over.

We will differentiate between the eustress; adaptive stress that helps us to respond effectively to a challenge of what it is; distress. The "bad" stress. The stress that makes us lose quality of life, damage relationships with other people, makes us unhappy and suffer excessively. In any case, both are variations of stress. One helps us and the other hurts us, but the circuit will be the same. We are going to look at three elements that are activated by this stress response. The first of them is an axis that we have seen in the endichronology section. Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. That axis begins, as its name suggests, in the hypothalamus.
