What is Hydroxyl B1-B6-B12?

It receives the name of Hidroxil B1-B6-B12 a medicine made up of different B vitamins and that it is used mainly in states of deficiency of said vitamins or before certain problems linked to pain and inflammation of nerve pathways, being indicated for people over twelve years of age. age.

Specifically, we are dealing with a drug in film-coated tablet format that is mainly made up of vitamins B1, B6, and B12, also known as thiamine hydrochloride (B1), pyridoxine hydrochloride (B6), and cyanocobalamin (B12). This set of vitamins is associated with the metabolism of carbohydrates and proteins, being especially associated with that produced in the nervous and neuroendocrine system.

Thus, this drug has a certain modulating effect that can alter the functioning of various neurotransmitters in addition to promoting the health and transmission of information (it is also related to the synthesis of myelin that covers neurons) of said systems. Likewise, their association has an influence on the transmission of information related to the perception of pain to both thalamic and spinal level, something that makes it have the property of mediating and reducing the level of pain in various ways. conditions.

Hidroxil B1-B6-B12 is, as we have just mentioned, a drug that has repercussions at the level of the neural pathways, being many of the main indications of this drug deeply linked to this system.

Mainly, it is considered that Hidroxil is especially indicated in those people who have some type of anemia with vitamin B deficiency, in addition to those conditions in which a state of convalescence and weakness occurs. Another possible indication is the presence of asthenia, generally related to the above symptoms, and fatigue.

It is also indicated for the pain of low back pain or sciatica, as well as for the effects derived from neuritis and other neuropathies, given their effects on pain modulation and different neurotransmitters.

Side effects and contraindications

Hidroxil B1-B6-B12 is a compound made up mainly of group B vitamins, something that may seem totally healthy and innocuous at first. However, an excess of these vitamins in our body can be harmful and have severe side effects.

As secondary symptoms have been observed that the drug can cause dizziness and agitation, headaches, as well as conjunctivitis, tingling, drowsiness or insomnia, diarrhea or loss of appetite. It can generate changes in the color of the urine, because its high content of vitamins can cause kidney or liver problems or alterations. Also photosensitivity with skin eruptions, and dermatitis may appear.

Thrombocytopenia purpura has been observed in some cases. (deficiency of platelets in the blood that makes coagulation difficult) or the appearance of rosacea fulminans, in addition to increasing the risk of contracting gout. In the case of vitamin B6, excessive or very prolonged consumption can be toxic at the neuronal level, and can generate peripheral sensory neuropathy (a condition linked to loss of sensation in the extremities and nerves peripherals).

It can also generate memory disturbances, autoimmune problems and effects on the visual system. It has also been linked to the appearance of rosacea fulminans, in addition to increasing the risk of contracting gout and being able to cause respiratory difficulties. In rare cases, a severe allergic reaction could occur or cause a decrease in folic acid.

Due to these side effects, Hidroxil has various conditions in which it is contraindicated. The first of them and perhaps the most obvious is the case of all those people who have an allergy or hypersensitivity to any of its components. In addition to this, people with kidney or liver problems should not take it, as well as the population under twelve years of age.

It is totally contraindicated also in pregnancy and lactation, since it can alter the nervous function and proprioception of the fetus, generate dependency in it or even cut off breastfeeding. If any other medication is taken continuously, the doctor should be consulted about the suitability of continuing taking this drug, because it presents numerous interactions with different groups of medicines. Joint use with alcohol or other drugs should also be avoided.
