Menelaus, king of Sparta and husband of Helena, asked for help from his brother Agamemnon, also king but of Mycenae, and he summoned the rest of the Greek towns to recover Helen from Trojan hands. All the Greek peoples formed a powerful fleet to besiege the city of Troy, his objective being to recover Helen, and at the same time destroy Troy to the ground.

According to Greek mythology, the winning side of the Trojan War was the Aqua League, the organization formed by Greek peoples that had united to confront Troy. This alliance was made up of Agamemnon, king of Mycenae, and Menelaus, king of Sparta, the latter being the husband of Helena, whose kidnapping originated the conflict.

After ten years of fighting, the Greeks finally achieved victory and they sacked the city of Troy. The war was long and bloody, with both sides suffering significant losses. But, finally and after ten years of struggle, the greeks were victorious through one of the best-known strategies in history.

The Greeks built a huge wooden horse, known as the Trojan horse, and inside they placed numerous Greek soldiers. The Trojan leaders thought that the horse was a gift from the Greeks that meant that they surrendered, and therefore they introduced it into their city. When the night comes, the warriors got off the horse, opening the gate of the city and allowing the bulk of the Greek troops to enter, which annihilated the city of Troy. It was then that the Greeks managed to be the winning side of the Trojan War.

It must be understood that although the war is thought to be an event from Greek mythology, it is believed that he may have a historical basis, and that there could have been some armed conflict between the Greeks and the Trojans, in which Troy was annihilated.
