  • Write down what you are thinking. Emotions also have a cognitive component. It is important that you can recognize what thoughts appear with a certain emotion, identify what you are thinking.
  • Talk about what you feel: You can share with someone you trust about how you are feeling, or what you need to express. Talking can also help you better understand what is happening to you and what you need.

What other activities help you know and understand your own emotions?

  • Connect with art. Draw, paint, write, dance. Art is the most primitive form of emotional expression that human beings have.
