Doña Sofía lends Queen Letizia a dress, thus ending the rumors of a bad relationship between the two
Much has been said about the celebration that took place in Zarzuela at the beginning of the month to celebrate the 80 years of King Emeritus Juan Carlos. Between the great absence of this family event of the Infanta Cristina and the dress of Princess Leonor that quickly sold out after seeing it put on it, it remained an unresolved question, the style of the queen Letizia.
And it is that the queen was one of the protagonists of the family photograph that the Royal House spread of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Juan Carlos. Letizia wore a gray dress with red and green stripes in the seventies style. But unlike what usually happens with her other outfits, this it did not belong to any of the designers bedside of the queen and was not on the Internet.
Recycled Sofia's closet
The reason is that the dress that has caused so much controversy could not be found in stores because it was a 'vintage' model rescued from the very closet of her mother-in-law, Doña Sofía. Letizia wore the same dress as Felipe's mother in the 80s. It was the ‘Vanitatis’ portal that discovered the mystery.

The same medium has been able to take pictures that show that Letizia resorted to to Doña Sofía's dress that she wore in 1984, specifically on November 22 where she visited the Dionisia Plaza de Aravaca center. That year the then queen Sofia dressed him with 46 years, the same age that Letizia will turn this year.
Statement of intents
The fact that Sofía lent Letizia a dress is considered an unusual event, as it is the first time that the two queens of Spain share the same garment. Yes, it is true that there are several occasions in which Felipe VI's wife has worn the jewels Sofia's personal items, such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, however, it is the first time that she has lent a garment.
Having put on the same dress as her mother-in-law, has left Sofia very touched, positively speaking. On the one hand because it could end or at least loosen the rumors that have arisen for years between Doña Sofía and Queen Letizia about his bad relationship and his distant and cold treatment. Furthermore, it might not be a coincidence that this first ‘wardrobe loan’ was carried out in the first official act of 2018 and coinciding with the 80th anniversary of King Emeritus Juan Carlos.
