1. Shampoo application

The first step is the application of keratin shampoo. As in the case of any of the rest of the products, it is important not to try to substitute this shampoo for any. With the right shampoo then the expected result is achieved.

It is used in the same way as the usual shampoo. Apply lightly to the entire scalp and leave it to act for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing. This shampoo prepares the hair for the treatment, in addition to regenerating it and leaving a smoother fall.

2. Drying

Before continuing it is important to do a thorough drying. With the towel you have to remove all the excess water, and then with a hair dryer leave it completely dry. This step is very important, as there should be no water in the hair before proceeding.

Brazilian straightening can be applied to almost any type of hair. In the case of curly or wavy hair, you must apply the hair dryer thoroughly. It may seem aggressive or that it is dehydrating, this is not the case, because the keratin shampoo will have already hydrated enough.

3. Mask application

The application of the treatment mask is essential to achieve the Brazilian straightening. For a better distribution of the product over the entire hair, it is better to do it directly with your hands. On the other hand, although it is not a product that damages the skin, it is recommended to use gloves.

If the hair is divided into two parts, the application is easier, and it can be done by yourself without external help. The objective is that the product is distributed from the roots to the ends, and to achieve the desired result, the product must be left to act for 15 minutes.

4. Remove the mask

The mask should not be removed by rinsing with water, and to remove the mask from the hair you have to do it with a comb. Passing it through all the hair, the comb will gradually remove the excess product. The rest must have penetrated from root to tip.

It is convenient to pass the comb several times through all the hair, and it is that each time more surplus of product is removed. Do not make the mistake of thinking that if you adhere a lot of mask, the better the result of the Brazilian straightening will be.

5. Second drying

After applying and removing the mask the next step is to dry again. With the help of the dryer, the hair should be completely dry, and it is important not to use a towel. It absorbs the product, and for this reason a hair dryer should be used.

Once there is no excess moisture, you have to brush. You have to use a brush with semi-hard bristles and slightly separated to go through all the hair smoothly. This is a very useful tip to get a better result from the Brazilian straightening.

6. Ironing

Precision ironing is an important step in achieving the perfect Brazilian straightening.. The hair straightener should be at a temperature of 200º C., and you have to take the hair in small sections. The iron should be passed around 10 times in each section.

In this process you will be removing any excess mask that has remained even after brushing. In addition, the product is also being fixed to the hair which allows the straightening to last between 3 to 6 months.

7. Washed

To finish with the application of keratin, you have to wash your hair again. Wait about 20 minutes after ironing to start the second wash step. After this time you have to apply the keratin shampoo again all over the hair.

The correct technique for applying shampoo is to put the product on the hands first, rub them in and distribute it over the scalp. Afterwards, you should massage the entire head and go to the ends of the hair. Finally, it is left to act for 10 minutes and rinsed.

8. Conditioner application and final drying

After rinsing the shampoo, you just have to apply the conditioner. In this case it could be the one commonly used, although there are also Brazilian keratin kits that include it and it is the most recommended.

It is important to let the conditioner work for about 10 minutes and then rinse until no residue remains. Then you just need to remove the excess water with a towel and dry the hair completely with the dryer.
