Taste and price greatly influence the choice of a bottled water brand. However, you have to consider quality first. The best brands of mineral water on the market stand out above the rest (and especially compared to tap water).

Drinking bottled water is a safe option, but then you have to choose which brand to buy. To help the consumer to decide between the great variety of offers that exist, the OCU (Organization of Consumers and Users) informs about different parameters that must be taken into account.

There are three types of bottled water: natural mineral water, spring water and prepared water. The latter is treated water to convert it into drinking water, and natural mineral water is the most consumed and bottled in countries like Spain.

To establish which are the best brands of mineral water on the market, many parameters are considered. These include the hardness of the water, the price-quality ratio and the clarity of the information on the packaging regarding the origin of the bottled water.

1. Fuente Liviana - Manantial Serranía 1 (90 points)

Fuente Liviana water tops the ranking of the best water brands. It is considered a water with weak mineralization, so it is totally safe to prepare baby food or its bottles.

It comes from the Serranía I spring in Huerta del Marquesado Cuenca (where it is also bottled). The price for this brand of water is around € 0.50 for 2 liters. Although it cannot be considered the cheapest, the price-quality ratio is justified.

2. Veri - Manantial Veri I (90 points)

Veri spring brand has weak mineralization. This is one of the reasons why it is in second place in the ranking. In addition, the labeling is clear and reliable and the value for money is considered to be totally fair.

It comes from San Martín de Veri in Huesca and its average price is € 0.40 per liter and a half. Due to its very weak mineralization, Veri water is also considered totally suitable and safe to be consumed by children and babies.

3. Agua de Beteta - Fuente del Arca Spring (90 points)

Beteta's water is bottled directly at the Fuente del Arca Spring in Cuenca. It is in third place on this list, but with the same 90 points as the previous ones. It is therefore one of the best brands that can be found.

The Beteta Water label is clear as to the origin of its bottled water. This is another important point to consider when assigning a score within the OCU ranking.

4. Aquadeus - Fuente Arquillo Spring (90 points)

Aquadeus bottled water comes from the only spring in Albacete. It is bottled directly, since it is water of origin and is mineralized. It is classified within bottled waters with less mineralization and is also low in sodium.

It has a perfect balance between bicarbonate, calcium and magnesium. A composition that cannot be compared to any tap water. For this reason, the OCU considers it one of the first in the ranking and establishes it as safe drinking water for babies.

5. Solán de Cabras - Solán de Cabras Spring (89 points)

Solán de Cabras is a well-known brand and one of the most consumed. It is weakly mineralized, and although it is priced somewhat higher than the other brands topping the list, its quality is worth it.

Solán de Cabras water has an approximate cost of 0.40 euro cents per liter. This water is bottled directly from the Solán de Cabras spring in the middle of the Cuenca mountains. It also uses a high-quality plastic to bottle the water.

6. Sierra de Segura - Manantial Sorihuela del Guadalimar (89 points)

Sierra de Segura water belongs to Carrefour and is very economical. It is a good quality water and its price is not high, which is why it is among the first places.

The source from which it comes is from Jaén, from the Manantial de Sorihuela del Guadalimar. The cost of this bottled water is 14 euro cents per liter, making it the cheapest on the list.

7. Font Vella - Manantial Sacalm (89 points)

Font Vella is one of the most recognized bottled water brands in Spain. Its strong advertising campaigns have made it one of the most popular names for water, and it must be said that it is quality water.

It comes from the Font Vella Spring in Sacalm Girona, and is a low mineralization water. The price is accessible although it is not the cheapest, as it is around € 0.33 per liter.

8. Cuevas Water - Cuevas Fountains Spring (88 points)

Cuevas Water is a good quality water although not one of the most consumed. Cave water is suitable, reliable, and tastes good, so it can be an excellent purchase choice.

Cuevas Water is low in sodium and mineralization. It is born from Fuentes de Cuevas and is packaged in Felechosa at 800 meters of altitude. This brand mainly offers small presentations, from 0.35 liters to 1.5 liters.

9. Font del Regas - Manantial Fonet del Regas (88 points)

Font del Regas has good flavor and excellent packaging designs. Born in Arbúcies (Girona), in the Montseny Natural Park. Although Font del Regas water is not as weakly mineralized as other options, it has a very good flavor.

It is an excellent drink for people who require a mild electrolyte replacement, as it has a higher concentration of minerals than other waters on this list. It is a safe water but perhaps not the most suitable for consumption in babies.

10. Monte Pinos - Ponte Pinos Spring (87 points)

Monte Pinos is a brand marketed by El Corte Inglés. It appears in the last place in the ranking, but it is an excellent option as well. It is a water with low mineralization, good taste and safe for the whole family to drink.

Its iconic blue glass bottle preserves the flavor and properties of spring water. However, it also has PET bottled presentations for greater practicality.
