New Testament Prophets

The prophets are an important part of any religion, having great importance for their ability to be the earthly messenger between the people and their gods. In the case of the Christian tradition, most of the prophets belong to the Old Testament, but there are some exceptions, since many of the characters of the New Testament although they are not named as such if they are prophets when sharing their elements key code. Even so, and taking into account that we know the main characteristics of the prophets, we can see in the characters from this part of the Bible numerous elements that make them prophets.

John the Baptist

Barnabas

Besides being a prophet, he is also considered an apostle, but not similar to those who accompanied Jesus, but a different species of these.

Ana

She is a prophetess who was in the temple when the baby Jesus was presented. From that moment until her death, Hannah went all over Jerusalem talking about that child, and how he would save all Christians by freeing them. Together with Simeon, he was one of the first religious sages to follow Jesus.

Zechariah

Father of John the Baptist and relative of the mother of Jesus, the prophet is said to she was visited by an angel sent by God, who told him that his wife would have a son whom he should call John, since his son would be very important in the life of God's son.

Isabel

Mother of Juan Bautista and Mary's family, Mother of jesus. Although she was infertile and already of advanced age, the arrival of an angel and the word of God caused her to have a son, being vital to the life of Jesus. In religious texts he is not named as a prophet, but his actions place her as one of them.

Silas

One of the leading Christian and companion of Saint Paul is his numerous missionary journeys, he was a key figure for the spread of christianity. His travels to spread the word of God make him be considered one of the prophets, being one of the many cases in which to expand the word of Jesus towards enjoying the recognition of prophet.

Jesus

Jesus of Nazareth, Christ, Jesus Christ or simply Jesus was the religious leader of christianity, being the son of God, and therefore the most important prophet of Christian history. His origin as a son of God makes him the greatest link between himself and the people, and therefore he can be considered as the most important prophet in history.

Cyrene pike

One of the founders of the Christian Church in the Antioquia region, being a key character in Herod's stage. He is considered a prophet because of what is said in the book of Acts, where several prophets are listed, one of them being him.
