What is the Silk Road. The Silk Road is a network of trade routes organized from the silk business. It takes on a lot of importance since the S I BC. It spans the entire Asian continent. That is, it is a network of trade roads linking eastern China with Europe and North Africa. Namely, they connect China with Mongolia passing through India, Persia, Arabia, Turkey reaching Europe and North Africa.
