What was the Library of Alexandria. The Alexandria Library was the largest library of the time. In fact it was located in the ancient city of Alexandria, in Egypt. It is believed that it was founded in SIII a. C. by Ptolemy I Soter. In fact, it was founded in the city that Alexander the Great founded that he wanted to make this city the point that illuminated the knowledge of the world.
