Among them, in the book Any reign the female characters and the problems posed by society in the postwar period. Now we are going to meet the characters of Any by Carmen Laforet What are they secondary, that is to say, that they have less importance in the novel, but that they are decisive for the protagonists. They are as follows:

  • Anguishes: Another of Andrea's aunts, this one she has a very strict personality. He is also a believing but unhappy person and tries to control Andrea at all times. The latter causes the two characters to collide. After disappearing from the house for several days, the family ends up discovering that she has become a nun in a convent.

  • Juan: This violent and temperamental man is Gloria's husband, with whom he has a son. Juan is a former painter with an unstable and insecure attitude. He mistreats his wife violently and her attitude towards other people is not very different. A poor man who is not capable of supporting his family, among which is Andrea, since she is his niece.
  • Glory: Gloria is Juan's wife, Andrea's uncle. This woman communicates with vulgar and more conversational language than the rest of the family. Being a mother and being married to Juan, Gloria had a relationship in the past with Roman, who is now her brother-in-law. In addition, she is not well accepted by the rest of the family, especially by her sister-in-law Angustias, but Andrea ends up knowing how to appreciate her. Despite being a good person, she likes to provoke, always dreaming of freedom and of loosening her ties.
  • Antonia: This woman is the maid in Andrea's family home. She has a dog named Thunder, which is black, just like the woman's clothes. Antonia maintains a good friendly relationship with Román and performs some favors for him, such as defending him or spying and covering for him in his outings.
  • ­Pons: This boy, like Ena, is Andrea's college classmate. He eventually ends up having a romantic relationship with Andrea, although she decides to abandon him at a party at his house when she feels insecure. And she is annoyed when she sees Pons talking to some of her friends.
  • James: Jaime is Ena's boyfriend. Andrea tries to appear a higher social status to him and Ena, and she becomes his confidante when Jaime needs it.
  • Daisy flower: Margarita is Ena's mother. In the past, she had an affair with Roman, but he did not reciprocate. This event makes Margarita unable to be happy again, and that infuriates Ena. When Ena decides to take revenge for Roman's suffering of her mother, it is Margarita who tells Andrea everything in order for him to help her.
