The Arab-Israeli conflict
In this new video from Unprofesor we will explain "The Arab-Israeli Conflict ".
The Israeli Arab conflict. This conflict is the conflict for possession and control of Palestinian territory. In fact, Israelis and Palestinians have been at war for more than 50 years (so to speak...). It all started after the first world war, which; With the defeat of the Turkish-Ottoman Empire, it was forced to give up many of its territories. Well... specifically, Palestine is ceded to the United Kingdom. In other words, at the end of the First World War, the United Kingdom ruled that region. Palestine is, in a way I decide, like an English colony. After World War II they realize that this must be solved since... the English cannot be ruling in a territory that is not theirs. So it is decided to divide that territory between Palestinians and Isrealians. Why? Because the The United Kingdom had made the mistake of promising Palestine its independence and at the same time promised the Jews the cession of land in Palestine.
This is when they come into conflict of interest: to some he promised independence and to the others he promised a place in that place. As you know, after World War II, many Jews emigrated to Palestine, which is why we already began to have a series of conflicts and confrontations between Jews and Palestinians. In fact, on November 29, 1947, the UN,enacts a partition plan for Palestine. Thus creating two states within Palestine; a Jewish state and an Arab state. In fact, only the jews signed that declaration, the arabs have never agreed. So much so, that in 1948 there is an attack by 5 Arab countries against Israel. These 5 countries are Transjordan, Egypt, Syria, Lybano, and Iraq.
