What is the geosphere

Welcome to UnProfesor, today we are going to discover what the geosphere is.

Geosphere It is that part of the Earth that is solid, it is mineral. It is what we would say "the earth". Geosphere is in contact with the atmosphere, which is the gaseous layer, at the top, and below it is in contact with the hydrosphere, an aqueous layer.

The layers of the geosphere, starting with the one we walk through, and ending with the one in the center of the earth, are:

- The lithosphere, which is also known for the Cortex, because it is on the outside, the most superficial. It is about 100 km and we can find this continental crust, which is the one that is forming the continents and mountains, or the oceanic crust, if it is part of the land that forms the bottom of the oceans and seas.

-The mantle, is divided into upper and lower. to upper part it is known as asthenosphere, and occupies 100 to 700 km. The lower mantle it occupies from 700 km to 2900 km.

- The nucleus, is subdivided between the external nucleus

, which occupies from 2900 km to 5100 km, and the inner core, which is found from 5100 km to 6380 km.
