Summary of the kingdom of the three moons: first part.

The kingdom of the three moons tells us about a prince who is about to turn 16 and is called Malkiel. A week before the boy's expected birthday arrives, he asks his father, King Olav, for a trip as a birthday present. The trip consists of go up the cliff where her mother died to celebrate her 16th birthday with her.

The king denies it completely because he doesn't want to go back to one of the saddest places in his life. The boy, then, decides to escape that same night from the kingdom of the three moons and communicates it to Samir, his Muslim adviser. After riding through the night, he arrived in front of the cliff and waited for something to happen. Meanwhile, in the palace, the king noticed the disappearance of his son and gave all his power to the great Inquisitor Alceste, who sentenced Samir to death for failing to prevent the escape. This same Alceste had prohibited any type of expression of art, since he knew that the power he had was far superior to that of his person. When the minstrels found out, they began to sing in secret, explaining the story to the entire town so that they would mobilize in favor of the Muslim adviser.

The story returns to the forest to tell us how the boys had stayed in the place until it began to get dark and decided to go to look for an inn to spend the night. At the inn, a minstrel began to sing the story of Samir and all that would happen to him because he let Malkiel escape.

Then Malkiel knew that she must return to the palace She quickly to solve everything that was happening and she asked Estrella to accompany him. While they were discussing all these questions Laura approached them, a girl who worked at the inn and who asked if she could accompany them on this adventure. So the three of them headed towards the palace as fast as they could.

After riding all day, they decided camping in the middle of the forest to spend the night and follow up with her return the next day. The group of singers told Malkiel that these instruments, moreover, they were magical and they would protect them in dangerous situations during their return journey.

The next day they arrived at the palace, it was the day before the prince's birthday. Upon entering the palace, Larson, who was hiding, threw himself on Estrella to strangle her for not having fulfilled the mission that she had entrusted him to kill the prince. Then Laura picked up one of the flutes and began to play. At the moment the sound came out of the instrument, Larson turned to stone.

They continued on their way until they reached the dungeon, where Alcestes was about to be killed. behead Samir. The prince began to fight against Alcestes, until guided by the voices of the minstrels, the king and all his servants began to fight for the same cause. Ultimately good wins thanks to the music and the powerful lyrics of the songs.

He is he protagonist of the novel, a boy of almost 16 years to whom all the adventures happen. He is willing to leave the comfort of his palace to perpetuate the memory of his mother. He is a good friend and he is not afraid to fight against injustice.

He believes that art is essential for the growth of a people, that's why when his father puts Alcestes in charge of the kingdom, he doesn't agree at all.

King Olaf

Olav is another of the characters in The kingdom of the three moons. He is the king of the kingdom of the three moons. He is a man elderly, widowed and very impressionable. Alceste told him that a break would do him good and that he would take charge of the kingdom. The king allowed himself to be influenced and heeded what the inquisitor Alcestes told him. The king lives quite traumatized by the memory of the death of his wife, that's why he doesn't want his son to return to the cliff.

Samir

He hates Prince Malkiel and sends his servant Larson to poison him when he is sleeping in the forest, he is also the one who will proceed to execute Samir. Finally, he is defeated by the prince.

Larson

Larson is the Alceste's servant that he tries to convince Estrella during the night to kill Prince Malkiel. He is a man without criteria who simply follows orders and does everything that I love her about him. No one cares about his opinion.

Star

star becomes the faithful friend of Malkiel from the beginning of the work, when they meet in front of the cliff. She accompanies the protagonist during all her adventures and although she has a moment of weakness when Larson asks her to kill the prince, the girl always shows loyalty to her friend.

Laura

Laura is another of the characters in The kingdom of the three moonsyes Is a girl who works at the inn and who is thirsty for adventure. As soon as he listens to Estrella and Malkiel talk about everything that happens in the palace, he does not hesitate twice to abandon everything he has and go with them.

minstrels

The minstrels are some of the strongest characters in the novel. Within the group of singers and musicians, we can find some characters with a little more weight, such as Bragante or Aldo.
