Psychologist Al-alba Wellbeing Center (Málaga)
I have been a psychologist since 1993, I have training in various therapeutic approaches and I am also a yoga teacher. My training, experience and knowledge allow me to work from a holistic approach. I am Spanish and have lived in Edinburgh, UK for 25 years. I have worked individually and in group therapy. In Edinburgh I worked as a consultant for the Government in suicide and self-harm prevention. Most of my work experience has been developed in third sector organizations and in private practice. I have extensive knowledge in leadership, business dynamics and work well-being. I have worked as a counselor and coach for 10 years. I have a Masters in Cognitive Science from the University of Edinburgh which has helped me understand how the brain works. I have a certificate as a Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner and have specialized in Family Constellations. I propose training based on experience and on topics that will help you conceptualize the demands of your patients from another perspective. I have more than twenty years of experience in psychoeducation and have given training in several countries.
I work in individual therapy from an existentialist approach. I think that our society has lost the meaning of our existence and I help people to make sense of their life experiences. I think that mental health is a community issue and not an individual one. Therefore, I specialize in providing people with a space where they can explore who they are, what defines them, how to give meaning to their lives and how to face difficult situations. I also work with companies to help them create environments that nurture and bring out the best in workers, that make them feel part of it.
I have a deep knowledge of the Anglo-Saxon culture which allows me not only to work in English because of my linguistic ability but also because of the understanding of their culture. I belong to the Emergency, Crisis and Catastrophe Section of the College of Psychologists of Eastern Andalusia. My approach is that everyone needs to go to a psychologist because we live in a society that does not nurture the individual but rather that values focused on consumption, individualism, competition and loneliness. I think that in a world that is changing so fast we need strategies and guidance.
