I am a licensed health psychologist, specializing in cognitive-behavioral psychology, psychotherapy for children and adolescents, and psychotherapy for adults. I have worked in multidisciplinary cabinets for several years and I have currently been attending my own health psychology practice for 5 years. In the first infant-juvenile sessions, parents are spoken to and the child or adolescent is evaluated. Once we know what the problem is and how much we have to worry about, we move on to psychological intervention, in which we set goals. Many parents come to the consultation worried, believing that there is nothing that can be done. However, once the problem is detected and once you begin to deal with it with the appropriate tools, it is very gratifying to see the improvements that are being presented. In adult psychotherapy, the methodology is similar in that a first session is held to assess the problem and thus find out what is happening, and then establish the therapeutic objectives. Sometimes we believe that we do not need help from a professional, but the truth is that on many occasions it is about improving and growing as people towards good emotional health.
Child and adolescent specialty: behavioral problems, tantrums, disobedience, eating and sleeping habits, anxiety, sadness, fears and phobias, anxiety before exams, school difficulties, jealousy between siblings, ADHD, low self-esteem, insecurity, adjustment problems, lack of social skills, divorces and school of parents. Adult specialty: anxiety and work stress, anxiety before exams/oppositions, phobias, depression, insomnia, low self-esteem, lack of social skills, difficulties speaking in public, making decisions and/or solving conflicts.
I like to transmit a human and close psychology, which gives security and confidence to the patient, which transforms the therapy space into a calm and comfortable environment. Many children come with fear and some adolescents with little desire, but after a first session, getting to know each other, seeing the therapy space, the dynamic teachings that we do... we immediately connect and they return with great desire and strength to improve. To approach adult psychotherapy, I also seek to create a comfortable and safe environment for the patient, in which to guide and accompany him throughout the process.
