Artistic installation: know what artists know and what their works
The so-called artistic installations are works of art that are necessarily used in space.
Nessa vertente, the artists plan their work, have elements in an environment, usually museums and galleries.
Dessa form, I seek to relate the artistic objects as a place and as a public, that many times interact with the work.
What is the origin of art installations?
An art installation was named in the 1960s. Since or its emergence, there is a non-sense effort to define its limits and differentiation of other manifestations, such as environmental art, land art, assemblage and other works.
At times it is an expressão dúbia that can connect with other artistic sources, thus being a hybrid linguagem.
We can relate the origins of the installations as the works entitled Merz (1919), by Kurt Schwitters (1887-1948) and works by Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968), mostly duas that he creates for exhibitions held in New York from 1938 to 1942.
In one of them, Duchamp - considered or "pai do dadaísmo" - dispenses sacks of carvão in a place normally not used in galleries: o teto. Assim, or public and obrigado and move to perspective of observation, or causing strangeness.
Na outra, Milhas de Barbantes, or artist insere barbers not museum environment, delimiting or space.
Years before, just in 1926, Piet Mondrian (1872-1944) unveiled an artistic project for the Salão de Madame B, na Alemanha.
The idea was to cover the walls in a comfortable way with the artist's representative colors, thus tracing a spatial relationship as a chromatic universe. The project was executed in 1970.
A minimalist art and arte povera also proposed works that are related as an installation concept, such as sculptures of great proportions.

Artists and works
Many artists use installations as a method of expressing themselves, apart from other languages. Assim, this production has been quite extensive since the 1980s, mainly.
We select some works by artists from Brazil and the world.
Yayoi kusama
A Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama was born in 1929 and I have looked at some of the most highly valued artists in the world.
Her art of her includes tendencies of pop art, surrealism and minimalism. Yayoi was discovered, mainly, for a few days polka dotsAs well as colorful bolinhas that she inserts in numerous works, sejam pictures, installations, collagens, photographs or sculptures.
Na installation Room of Infinite Spells - Field of FalosYayoi creates a spelled universe from where small white phallic objects are born painted with vermelhas bolinhas. This used environment arouses curiosity from the public, who interact with the work.
Jessica Stockholder
This is a North American artist born in 1959. She works with sculptures, installations, paintings and designs.
Jessica proposed in her work a communication between works of art and architectural works, creating unfinished places, onde fios, andaimes, tecidos and other elements tell us that we are in constant construction.
Henrique Oliveira
Henrique Oliveira is a Brazilian interior artist from São Paulo who was born in 1973. Part of her work consists of creating spaces that remind us of organs or organic elements.
For isso, he uses wood flakes superposted on previously raised structures. Also, he invents tunnels or carcasses made of material that is also associated with painting, like huge ink strokes.
In many dessas works or public can enter not work and feel within a body. Uma dessas installations é To Origem do Terceiro Mundo, exhibited at the São Paulo Art Biennial in 2010.
Rosana Paulino
A São Paulo visual artist Rosana Paulino, born in 1967, is also an art educator and researcher.
It has a fairly consistent work that does not address various issues, mainly, the identity of the black woman and the structural racism present in Brazilian society.
Na installation As tecelãs, 2003, an artist lida de maneira poética com o ciclo da vida. São 100 peças in terracotta, cotton and lines arranged on the walls and no gallery.
Cildo Meireles
Cildo Meireles was born in Rio in 1948. O artist has a solid career, being recognized internationally. Cildo is quite versatile, having works in painting, sculpture, photography, installations, objects, interventions and other languages.
Detour to o vermelho It is an installation that was assembled for the first time in 1967 in Rio de Janeiro, it was traced several times and had a definitive version in 1984.
A work is um comfortable in that all the objects are são vermelhos. Or artist defines or place as being possible, more improvavel. The escolhe or vermelho to represent the interior of the human being, such as the environment fosse a corpo e or public enter nesse corpo.
It is also possible to draw a parallel from the com a paixão, or enthusiasm and the same time for violence, or alertness. Isso even justifies himself by fate that Cildo motivated to project this work, which was the assassination of a day laborer, a friend of the family at the time of military rule.
Além disso, or vermelho, which at first seems barely "colorful" or comfortable, turns a few years into its own material.
This is a facility that gives the same form that "invites" you to explore it at the first moment, then it becomes aggressive and suffocating.
Common features in installations
Artists create installations for various purposes. There are many intentions present in these works, and they can be carried out in very different ways. Some are ephemeral, others permanent, others mounted in various spaces.
In the meantime, it is possible to relate some ideas that may be present in many installations. In an attempt to move to the public perspective, this is one of them, facing or observing such things from other points of view.
Another point of interest is that this type of work is drawn on the concept of "objectification" of the works of art that you now collect.
As installations go against the ideas of their own, these works are generally great, depending on the public space, or that make it invalid that they are acquired by collectors. At the same time, there is also a kind of "criticism" of the art market.
Installations Site Specific
Site specific, or a specific site, is a term used to designate artistic projects created especially for pre-determined places.
Normally these works are the result of some invitation for the artist to develop a work that dialogues as an environment to or from.
Also, the "specific sites" relate to environmental art (installations produced in an urban environment), and to land art, work done in nature.
As they are carried out in public places, these works can be accessed by everyone.
