Transpersonal Coaching: what it is and what it is for
Coaching is a discipline that is usually linked to the field of Personal development; Its objective is not to treat psychopathologies in the style of conventional psychotherapy, but rather focuses on taking advantage of each person's potential for self-realization.
However, if we stop to think about what coaching is for, it is inevitable that sooner or later the feeling that personal development It is such a broad and abstract concept that there is room for many different ways of working in it, and that is why there are various approaches to coaching. In this case we will explore one of the most interesting: transpersonal coaching. Let's see what your proposal is.
What is transpersonal coaching?
As we have seen, transpersonal coaching is, above all, a specific approach. This means that what defines transpersonal coaching is not the type of problems in which it is applied or the class of contexts in which it intervenes, but the depth in which it works.
The most common thing is to find a superficial coaching. Unfortunately, this type of coaching abounds both in the world of individuals and in that of companies. This type of coaching is limited to setting goals, talking about the current situation and creating future action plans to get closer to the goal set.
Said like this, it sounds very coherent, the problem is that it does not achieve sustainable changes. Because? Because if it were that simple, the person or team would have done it by themselves. It is not easy, because there are very deep obstacles that limit any progress towards the desired destination. And not only that, there are also internal saboteurs (fears and beliefs) who prefer the current status quo, either because represents the so pleasant comfort zone or because the desired future involves such a giant step that it generates panic and unrest.
A superficial coaching will not be able to reach those obstacles, nor will it remove the inner saboteurs from the equation. They know very well how to hide in the depths of the client's mind, precisely so as not to be discovered or annulled.
Transpersonal coaching instead delves into the root of blockages from the get-go. That is why coaching is much more challenging and demanding, both for the client and for the coach himself.

What is transpersonal coaching for?
Transpersonal coaching will work on both the subconscious patterns that have the client anchored to their past, as the biggest impediment to his own development: his identification with the little character that believes to be This is where the word 'trans-personal' comes from, which means transcending the person you think you are.
Within that character are all the fears and all the beliefs that limit us so much. And also our intimate and hidden convictions that, being small and unable to live our dreams and desires, we will be more protected and secure (our greatest inner sabotage). A Transpersonal Coach will help the client to realize that there is another "I" inside him or her. A much wiser and more aware self, capable of moving forward in his life despite the limitations of his little character. It's not about doing what your heart desires the day you're no longer afraid. That day will never come!
It is about placing yourself in the center of your Being and starting to walk from your highest confidence. By doing this, your little character's fear will progressively decrease, since when he observes the great Being next to him, he will feel more protected by him than by his comfort zone.
But doing this kind of work is much more complicated than any "light" coaching. It requires greater skill, greater presence, greater courage on the part of the Coach and much more powerful and challenging tools, such as visualizations. deep insights, meditative work, working with archetypes and symbols, accessing the different characters that inhabit the subconscious of the client etc
If we really want to help people to transform their lives to live them with meaning and self-realization, we must accompany them in raising their consciousness.
A superficial coaching process will try to achieve a small objective. A transpersonal coaching process will achieve a profound transformation of the person, in such a way that they no longer need coaching. You will have grown so much that you will be able to face any challenge in your life from your own inner wisdom. And once in a while you can have a beer with your Coach to laugh about the old days.
