Word classes according to their meaning
In this video I will explain the types of words according to their meaning. Words according to their meaning can be classified or grouped.
The words according to their meaning can be classified on:
- Synonym words: with the same or similar meaning.
- antonym words: with opposite meaning.
- monosemic words: with only one meaning.
- polysemic words: with more than one meaning.
- homonymous words:homographs (they are written and pronounced the same) and homophones (they are pronounced the same).
- stop words: in the same way and different meaning.
The words according to their meaning can be grouped on:
- semantic fields: set of words that are related to a topic.
- Lexical fields: set of words also related by a topic but have common and uncommon features
