Examples of traces, hispanized words and xenisms

In this video we continue talking about loansIn particular, I will explain to you how we incorporate these words into our language. Examples of traces, hispanized words and xenisms.

Remember that loans They are all the words that the Spanish lexicon has taken from other foreign languages in past and recent times. The reasons can be economic, political, social, etc. or by necessity since we lack a term to designate something.

There are 2 ways to incorporate loans in our language:

Tracing: Terms that are traced, that is, they are translated with Spanish words. In many cases they adopt new meanings, the translation of a foreign term by an already existing word, thus taking on a different meaning. (Living-room - «living room»)

Hispanized or adapted words: According to the textbooks they can be traces or a category, they adapt to our pronunciation or spelling (eg Fr. Carnet >> card).

Xenisms // Foreigners: Terms that have not yet been assimilated and maintain their original form and a pronunciation similar to that of the language of origin, nothing similar to the Spanish forms. (Ex. Croissant, camping)
