A prepositional phrase (S Prep) is all that phrase introduced by a preposition or prepositional phrase. In this type of phrase, the preposition performs the function of the syntactic nucleus, regardless of the fact that just behind the preposition there is a noun phrase. For example, "textbook" is a noun phrase, whose nucleus is "book" and within which we find a Prepositional phrase "of text", which is introduced by the preposition "of", followed by the noun phrase "text". In this lesson from a TEACHER we will study the sentences with prepositional phrase with different examples so you can understand this grammatical concept.

As we have said before, a prepositional phrase is a phrase that begins with a preposition or phrase prepositional, which is generally followed by a noun phrase and, on some occasions, an adjectival phrase as well. Let us remember that a preposition is a type of invariable word that serves to introduce phrases or sentences that perform a syntactic function within the sentence.
