Loans They are all the words that the Spanish lexicon has taken from other foreign languages in past and recent times. The reasons can be economic, political, social, etc. or by necessity since we lack a term to designate something.

Terminology: Be careful not to confuse loan and neologism

Classification:

  • Origin Anglicisms, Arabisms, Lusisms, Italianisms, etc.
  • Seniority: Loans historical (pre-Roman substratum, cultisms, Germanisms, Arabisms) and loans recent / neologisms(Anglicisms, Gallicisms).
