Letter do Hino Nacional Brasileiro (complete)

Part I

Ouviram do Ipiranga as placid margens
Of a heroic povo or rumbling brado,
The sun gives freedom, you shining rays,
Brilhou does not leave home for an instant.

Se o penhor dessa equaldade
We managed to conquer with braço forte,
Em teu seio, or freedom,
Challenge us or fight our own death!

Ó beloved country,
Idolized,
Hail! Hail!

Brazil, an intense sound, a vivid light
Of love and of hope à terra desce,
It was made into a shapely ceu, risonho and limpid,
The image of Cruzeiro shines.

Giant peels his own nature,
He is beautiful, he is forte, impassive colossus,
Your future spells that greatness.

Terra adored,
Among other thousand,

This is you, Brazil,
Ó beloved homeland!
Two files of this alone is more gentle,
Beloved homeland,
Brazil!

Part ii

Eternally blessed in splendid berço,
Ao som do mar e à luz do ceu profound,
Fulguras, or Brazil, florão da América,
Illuminated ao sol do Novo Mundo!

Do que a terra, mais garrida,
Teus risonhos, beautiful fields with more flowers;
"Nossos forests têm mais vida",
"Nossa vida" no teu seio "mais amores."

Ó beloved country,
Idolized,
Hail! Hail!

Brazil, of eternal love is a symbol
O labaro that you hold starry,
E say or green-louro dessa flâmula
- "Peace not future and glory not past."

But, it stands to give justice to clava forte,
You will see that um filho teu não foge à luta,
Nem fears, quem adores you, own death.

Terra adored,
Among other thousand,
This is you, Brazil,
Ó beloved homeland!
Two files of this alone is more gentle,
Beloved homeland,
Brazil!
