Returning to the musical keys, these are used depending on the musical register that is most comfortable for an instrument to read. Many instruments read comfortably in the treble clef, but if their register is lower, they usually use the bass clef. And then the least common is the key of C, with which its use has become more popularly standardized. for the viola and alto trombone.

The key of C has the particularity of being the clef that changes position on the staff. Although it is usually written on the third line of the staff, it can sometimes be placed on different lines of the staff, depending on what is most convenient.

When the clef of C is placed on the third line, it is called clef of C - Alto. This is the most common. But when the clef of C is placed on the fourth line, it is called clef of C - Tenor. Instruments that generally use the key of C - Tenor are bassoon, cello, euphonium, double bass and trombone. It is important to mention that when they use it, it is usually because they need to play higher notes and the change from key to key of C is a way to make reading easier.
