Lyrics

Hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home?
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
I have become comfortably numb
Okay
Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more
But you may feel a little sick

Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going, through the show
Come on it's time to go
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
And I have become comfortably numb

O common sense accredits that the letter of Comfortably numb deals with the experience lived from drug use, but the author of the composition, Roger Waters, insists that it does not.

Or album also a film and a song on the face of the sound trilha of a dinner with which Pink, or the protagonist, finds no seu hotel room on the effects of drugs that he has just taken, unable to work, I do not agree that he would be scheduled for a noite.

Hampered, he started a number of his psychological trips to the past, Pink and interrupted when he invaded the hotel room.

Or that we are perceiving, few years, that this someone is weakened, depressed, forced and disconnected from reality.

Burn my voice to music, then I interfere, ask for some basic information, ask where it is possible to stand.

Embora an image that has been crystallized into music is something of someone who experiences impediments and loses connection as a reality, or author and his own letter, it is clear that it is about a period of childhood when Rogers ficou doente.

A composition is quite explicit:

When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons

When he became an adult, the sensation was repeated several times, at the same time, an entry into a state of delirium, totally out of character.

During two hepatite peaks, Roger specified a show in Philadelphia (at Arena Spectrum, day 29 June 1977) and the doctor applied an injection to him, claiming that it was a problem muscular. Roger Waters wrote part of the inspired lyrics nessa uma experiência.

Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more
Harm
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do belive it's working, good

On other occasions, on other occasions, the composer disconnected from reality when he saw peaks of February or of Dor, Waters remarks:

"It reminded me of a flu or something of the genre, an infection that gave me a February of May of 40 ° and made me delirious. I was not very funny as many thought, it was terrifying. "

Embora to the lyrics of Comfortably numb fale de situations pontuais lived by composer, é provável que o ouvinte já He had become comfortably hampered with some kind of life, in some specific moment of difficulty.

It was a composition that came from a desperate way - like a lost home, mergulhado in yes, isolated - depois from the doctor's check and from the administration of the medicine or state of torpor melhora. Or personagem gets up, demonstrating to be able to perform or show.

That'll keep you going, through the show
Come on it's time to go

About a criação da music

No case of Comfortably numb, a melody emerged before the lyrics. Dave Gilmour wrote the song in his work on his first solo album, in 1978.

When he was recording the sessions of The Wall, Gilmour levou or work for Roger Waters to appreciate and, possibly, create a letter. The verses of Comfortably numb will end up being effectively composited bassist hair.

It is common sense to associate music with reactions derived from drug use. More true than child, second or artist, revolves around an adult who returns to feel as a child when he / she is eating.

Waters affirmed that he has never had that sensation some times a year long ago. In an interview with Mojo magazine, in December 2009, he argued:

"When I was a child I had a fever / My hands felt just like two balloons" são autobiographical verses. I fell ill when I was a child and had a flu or some other illness, a qualifying infection, when the temperature rose very high, I entered a delirium. It was not like it was mine, of fato, they appeared to be baloes, but it was olhava for them and I felt that they were huge, scary.

In another interview granted, back in the 80s, in Los Angeles, Waters relates to music as a period in which he has hepatite, is still in não tivesse or diagnosis of a doença.

Comfortably numb was the latest music brought up by Waters e Gilmour. In 1986, Waters deixou os Pink Floyd. Em 2008, or keyboardist Richard Wright Morreu, victim of a devastating cancer.

The band just got together in 2014 to release the album Endless River, the first original album for the last 20 years. No total, or set released fifteen original albums, or first foi in 1967 (entitled The Piper at the gates of Dawn).

Bob Geldof plays the main character Pink in adulthood and Kevin McKeon when he is famously young. Christine Hargreaves and James Laurenson play the country of artist while Eleanor David plays wife.
