It is a matter of observing it, something we can do frequently since we look in the mirror every day, and pay attention to their particularities: If it shows shine and in what area, if there are flaking areas, the granites, if our pores are dilated, where expression lines are accentuated, redness... all are signs of what our skin.

You may not know where to start or what order to follow, but don't worry. In this article we will guide you to be clear about the steps to follow to achieve perfect makeup.

Steps to follow for a perfect makeup

You can be sure that if you follow these steps you will not find it difficult to achieve a flawless look.

1. Cleaning

The first step is to clean the skin well. Even if your skin has been removed from the day before, during the night the skin eliminates toxins and oil through its pores, so it must be cleaned again in the morning. You can use makeup remover wipes or a cleansing milk that you apply with your fingers all over the face and massage thoroughly.

When removing it, we advise against cotton pads, as their fibers damage the skin. It is preferable to do it with water or with the help of a damp facial sponge, since that way you also add moisture to the skin. Dry it without dragging the towel, better with gentle touches.

In the event that after cleaning it, you notice that it does not finish offering a clean appearance, use a gentle exfoliation; It will help you eliminate any dead skin that may exist and your skin will be much more receptive to the next steps to follow for a perfect makeup.

2. Facial tonic

If we want the skin to have a juicy and fresh appearance, a few touches of toner on the skin will help us achieve this effect, it will close the most dilated pores and give us a pleasant feeling of smoothness.

3. Serum treatment

With this step we are providing the treatment with specific nutrients depending on the type of particularities of your skin, whether for mature and dull, oily skin, with rosacea, for expression lines or sun spots.

In any case, a few small drops are enough in the affected areas (or in general, if they are for entire face), and massage thoroughly with the fingertips to promote penetration into the skin.

4. Moisturizing

There will be identify the type of skin we have to get the moisturizing cream that will give us the best finish. The main difference between one and the other is how likely they are to produce fat.

When you apply the moisturizer, massage it thoroughly so that it reaches the deepest layers of the skin. Avoid the area around the eyes, as this skin is much thinner and more delicate. Reserve for that part a little eye contour, which you can also apply (with a small touch) on the most marked expression lines you have.

Give yourself about five minutes before continuing to prepare the skin so that the remaining cream is completely absorbed.

5. First

This is one of the most important steps to follow for a perfect makeup: with it you will get the finish to hold you intact over the hours. The primer is usually a colorless gel that creates a very thin film on the skin, sealing open pores and smoothing its appearance.

Its composition is prepared so that the oil that the skin naturally generates does not reach the layer of makeup that is on top of it and spoil it.

6. Base

We begin to prepare our canvas. When you go to buy it, don't test the color on your hand; you have to choose the same tone as your skin, neither lighter nor darker. The ideal is to try it on the skin of the clean face, in the area above the jaw and when extending it check that it blends perfectly with your natural skin color.

To apply it, you can do it with a sponge (there are drop-shaped ones for easier access to all places), with a makeup brush (flat, wide and compact) or with your fingers.

You must cover the entire face with it, including eyelids and a little of the lips, but making sure there is no excess. It is preferable to add a little more each time you need it and extend it very well, than to put more amount of the account and it is an overloaded aspect. You can apply small amounts in spots in separate areas and then spread it out.

The finish must be light and must serve to unify the tone of the face, not to provide a more tanned tone or give a mask effect. The feeling must be to "have a good face."

7. Concealer

Having a light beige cream concealer is essential to correct those areas that the makeup base itself has not smoothed. If it has a small applicator, even better.

To apply it, we will do it by giving small touches in the areas to be corrected (dark circles, lacrimal, areas shaded, corners of the lips or next to the nostrils ...), better so with long strokes continuous.

And the trick to extend it is with gentle taps using the ring finger. Why? Simple. Because having less precision with this than with the index, provides a more natural effect on the skin that will help to discreetly integrate the contours of the concealer into the makeup base.

8. Compact dust

So that your makeup has that velvety and flawless finish, matte powders are used. The color must be the same tone as the makeup or slightly lighter, and although they are accompanied by many occasions of a compact tassel, it is preferable to apply them with a large brush as the effect is more gentle.

In order not to leave traces overloaded with excess powder, we load the brush with the powder and give a sharp blow to the handle to remove the excess. It is applied in broad strokes all over the face. The finish must be invisible and matte.

9. Eyes make up

In another post we will give you some guidelines to make up the eyes, since it requires a more detailed explanation, but at this point, where we have prepared the skin as the right canvas to paint on, it is when our eyelids are more receptive to fix the shadows that we use on them and stay that way for longer.

In any case, a little black mascara applied to both the upper and lower lashes through zigzag movements, it will help us to enhance our look before continuing to create our makeup perfect.

10. Sculpting the face

So far we have managed to unify our face, but we have also managed to make its appearance more flat. That is, we have removed angularity from our features. So, this step seeks to restore the characteristics of our face respecting its naturalness and at the same time subtly correcting what detracts from harmony.

To highlight our features, we will seek to compensate for our inesthetics (referring to the way in which our features move away from the most aesthetic proportions) playing with the alternation of dark and light powders with a finish mate.

In another article we will explain how each tone should be applied depending on the type of face you have, but basically, light powder is used for the areas you want to enhance and dark powder for the areas you want attenuate.

11. Lip

They are the object of desire and, next to the gaze, one of the most attractive points of our face. That is why it is recommended to choose to highlight one or the other, not both. And that is why we will also dedicate an article to the proper way to make up the lips so that they are irresistible.

For now, we recommend you outline them with a pencil of your natural lip tone and give them a touch of color by putting "duck noses" to apply, dabbing lipstick with pressure, as if you could not drag it by its surface. In this way they will be juicy and natural, although they will not go unnoticed.

12. Blush or blush

If in our body silhouette a narrow waist is the main feature of the feminine ideal, in terms of our facial features the equivalent would be attractive cheeks. That is why we could not skip this step to follow for a perfect makeup.

The colors that best suit your skin tone are related to your undertone. If it is warm, your cheeks will stand out more with the orange color of peach (light skin) or tile (for darker skin). If your undertone is cold, you should opt for pink tones such as strawberry (for lighter skin) or fuchsia (dark skin).

Once you have the blush that best suits your tone, it is about applying it in the right place: On the "apples" of the cheeks, in a circular way and towards the temple. To see it clearly, smile intensely and notice how an area of the cheekbones is especially enhanced, forming like apples. Well, it is about making concentric circles with the blush brush over that area and end up dragging it towards the temple.

13. Illuminator

Only usmall touches of light in strategic areas will give us a freshness in the expressionn. For this, nothing better than an illuminator. They come in the form of a pen with a brush end and a push button, although the classic stick-shaped applicators are also very practical.

We can put some light points on the upper and outer part of the cheekbones, on the cupid's arch, the central part of the chin, in the center of the lower lip and under the arch of the eyebrow. It is smudged with the same technique as the concealer, using the ring finger in gentle taps and without dragging.

14. Sun powders

This point is optional, it is not essential to achieve a perfect makeup.

Before we had warned you to choose the exact color of your skin tone, because to give a more tanned effect, what we use are powders darker than our skin tone.

It is not the same to apply some sun powder than to use a little dark powder to sculpt the face. The question we must ask ourselves is, what do we want, to sculpt the face to enhance our features or to provide a more tanned color to our skin?

If what we want is the latter, we must use a medium brush (or special for this use) and apply powder sun (they can be matte or shiny) on the forehead and our nose, as if we were drawing a T on our expensive. In this way, we can simulate the touch of color that the sun would leave us with the so-called effect sun-kissed.

15. Transparent powders

And for the final touch, a little clear powder applied with a large special finishing powder brush with which velvety skin without applying more color.

16. Fixation

Spray some oatmeal water or a makeup setting spray over the entire face and let it dry for a few seconds.

With this simple gesture we will be making sure to fix the makeup even more so that don't fade as the hours go by.

We hope it has been useful to you and that you dare with these steps to follow for a perfect makeup.
