Flags are one of the main symbols of any nation, serving so that whatever the situation is, it is used to know which country we are talking about and differentiate it from the rest of the nations. One of the continents with the largest number of countries and therefore flags is Africa, and therefore in this lesson from a PROFESSOR we must talk about the africa flags.

Located in eastern Africa is an area occupied by former colonies of the United Kingdom and Germany already independent, being characterized by the great influence that the Indian Ocean has on them. The flags of the Africa countries Oriental are as follows:

  • Burundi: Three red stars surrounded by four areas, two of them green and the other two red.
  • Comoros: A green triangle with a moon from which four horizontal lines emerge, its colors being yellow, white, red and blue.

  • Mauricio: Four horizontal lines in red, blue, yellow and green colors.
  • Mozambique: Red triangle with a weapon and a book from which horizontal lines of green, black and red emerge.
  • Rwanda: Three horizontal lines of blue, yellow and green, the blue being the largest and with a sun.
  • Seychelles: Five oblique lines of blue, yellow, red, white, green.
  • Somalia: Blue flag with a white star in its center.
  • Sudan: Green triangle with three horizontal lines of red, white and black.
  • South Sudan: Blue triangle with yellow star from which three horizontal lines of black, red and green emerge.
  • Tanzania: Green and blue divided by a black diagonal line.
  • Uganda: Six alternating stripes of black, yellow and red crowned by a rooster.
  • Zambia: Green flag with a small flag on the right with the colors red, black and orange.
  • Zimbabwe: White triangle from which two green lines, two yellow lines, two red lines and one black line emerge.

To continue with the lesson we must talk about the flags of those nations that are in the center of the continent all of them being influenced to a greater or lesser extent by the Congo river and by an old influence from France. The main flags of the central African zone are the following:

  • Chad: Vertical lines of blue, yellow and red.
  • Angola: Red and black horizontal lines with a machete and a yellow gear in its center.
  • Cameroon: Green, red and yellow vertical lines with a star in the center.

  • Sao Tome and Principe: Red triangle with green, yellow and green horizontal lines with two black stars in its center.

A region dominated by great influence of the Mediterranean and the Sahara and where many European nations have influenced. The flags that make up the symbols of the North African nations are the following:

  • Algeria: Green and white flag with a star and a red moon inside.

  • Libya: Red, black and green horizontal lines with a star and white moon in their center.
  • Morocco: Red flag with a green star in its center.
  • Tunisia: Red flag with a white circle in its center whose interior has a moon and a star.

  • Botswana: Two blue horizontal lines with a black line dividing them.
  • Lesotho: Horizontal lines of blue, white and green with a bell in its center.
  • Namibia: Blue zone with a Sun, green zone and a red diagonal line dividing.
  • Swaziland: Two blue lines, two thin yellow lines, and a red center with a shield and spears.
