The development of the First World War

In this video I will explain what the development of the First World War. This war went mainly through four phases.

The stages of the First World War were as follows:

  • 1914:War of movements: They are the operations that Germany carried out to defeat France and Russia.
  • 1915-1916:Trench warfare or war of positions which was a consequence of the previous war. Here, the German army entrenched itself to preserve its territories and concentrate all its force on the eastern front.
  • 1917: definitive crisis: a series of protests and later riots broke out in all countries.
  • 1918: the End of the Great War: both sides are devastated due to the duration of the war although the Imperialist side is the one that is in worse conditions. Took place the second battle of Marne which changed the course of the war making Germany withdraw from all fronts so that on July 18, 1919 the Treaty of Versailles that ended the Great War.
