Nuria Salgado (Suma Center)
I have a degree in Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid, where I later studied the Master in Clinical and Health Psychology and I was awarded a scholarship to work at the University Psychology Clinic of the UCM. After practicing in this resource as a psychologist for three years, I have been alternating private practice with the position of supervisor of the Student Psychological Attention Service of the Complutense University, which I have occupied for two years.
My clinical practice is based on the cognitive-behavioral paradigm and the use of treatments based on scientific evidence; without forgetting the need for an individual understanding of each person and how the problems for which they come for consultation are affecting them, in a particular way. I have extensive experience in psychological intervention with adults and adolescents, having addressed a wide range of problems; the most frequent being anxiety problems, low mood and relationship problems.
I have collaborated with different entities such as the CIS Victoria Kent, the Casa de la Mujer de Fuenlabrada, the Red Cross or various public schools; in research programs in intervention of Intrafamily Violence or Psychological Assistance to Victims of Terrorism. This has allowed me to work with diverse populations and understand very different contexts. I have combined my clinical practice with teaching and research work; I have been an honorary collaborator of the UCM for four years, as an internship tutor and teacher in Continuing Education Diplomas.
