What was calvinism
In this new video from Unprofesor we will explain "What was calvinism".
What was Calvinism. Calvinism was a doctrinal system based on the teachings of John Calvin (1509 - 1564). John Calvin was a very influential theologian in the Protestant Reformation. In fact, one of the main notions, or doctrines, is Calvinists' emphasis on the authority of God. There is only God. Almost the church would not have to exist because they only recognize the authority of God. It all started some time before with the reform of Luther (as you well know, Luther was excommunicated) is then When Juan Calvino, began to notice in his own flesh also a certain persecution and decided to take refuge in Geneva. It is here, where along with other thinkers and reformers, they begin to put Calvinism in motion, without calling it that, but they begin their reform that with time will depart a little from what proposed Luther and Calvinism takes on its own identity.
Calvinism spread especially in northern Europe and the United States
. Let's go to see the main characteristics of Calvinism. The first; Calvinism bases its beliefs on Christ and believes that all designs come from God (everything revolves around God). Another great characteristic is that Calvinists do not conceive of the priesthood as a sacrament. They do not believe that the figure of the priest is necessary because they believe that religion and beliefs must be within each one. The third characteristic would be the absolute belief in God and in his sovereignty. The central figure is God and man, therefore, it depends on God. His salvation is not subject to good or bad works that you do in this world. Rather, it is based on the faith of each man in the grace of God. To finish off the characteristics of Calvinism, Calvinist beliefs are based on the 5 points of Calvinism. To know the subject in more depth, do not miss the complete video on "What was calvinism"and practice with the exercises that we leave you next.
