Types of antibodies or immunoglobulins
Welcome to a Professor, in today's video we continue with the topic of immunology, and we are going to discover what are the types of antibodies or immunoglobulins.
We must remember that antibody and immunoglobulin are synonymous. The molecule is called an antibody, because it fights against foreign bodies, and it is called an immunoglobulin because they are proteins of the globulin family.
There are 5 types immunoglobulins:
- Type G: numerous. Innate immunity of the baby. They act as a complement / little payments
- Type M: they are the ones that appear in the first contact with a GA. They love polyvalent AGs (up to 10 binding sites!). Activate macrophages and complement
- Type A: Monomerp. dimer, trimer.
- Type E: MBR mast cells: in tissues (most!). Allergy.
- Type D: MBR B lymphocytes. AG receptors.
