Male reproductive system and its parts

In the human reproduction It is necessary that two parents participate, a woman and a man, and therefore both need a device that allows them to perform the reproductive act. The devices of both genders are very different, there is no identical part between them, so it is very important to understand the parts that each one has, and what they are for. Therefore, in this lesson from a TEACHER, we are going to talk about the male reproductive system and its parts.
The male reproductive system is the set of internal and external organs that allows men to be able to reproduce. Thanks to this device, men are able to produce sex cells male, the so-called sperm, which are vital to create new beings, although for this they need to join the female sex cells, the ovules.
The male apparatus are found in different parts than the female, since the latter is only located in the pelvis, while the male is located both inside and outside the pelvis.
Functions of the male reproductive system
Like the female, the male reproductive system is capable of performing an enormous amount of functions apart from the reproducer, being therefore a much more important device than many people think. Some of these functions are as follows:
- Produces male sex hormones, also called testosterone. Some of the effects produced by these hormones are male development, increased sperm production, and changes that occur at puberty.
- Erection, which allows the reproductive act.
- He is able to ejaculate, expelling the semen that contains the sperm to fertilize the egg.
- It carries the sperm to the outside through a series of tubes.

To continue with this lesson on the male reproductive system and its parts, we must talk about the two types of parts that exist, differentiating between external and internal parts. The external ones are those that are on the outside of the male, while the internal ones are inside the pelvis. The following organs are called external.
- Testicles: They are organs located in the scrotal bag, considered the most important organs of the male reproductive system. They are in charge of produce male sex cells and male hormones.
- Penis: It is the organ through which the man can perform the sexual act, in addition to being the place through which the man expels urine. Its main function in reproduction is to deposit the sperm in the woman to fertilize the ovum.
- Spongy body: It is a column of tissue that is inside the penis, being located in the lower part. Its main function is to contract the urethra during sexual intercourse, so that semen and urine do not join.
- Corpora cavernosa: They are two columns of tissue located in the upper part of the human penis. They are the ones that accumulate blood during a male erection.
- Vas deferens: They are a pair of ducts responsible for connecting the epididymis with the ducts that deal with ejaculation.
- Epididymis: It is a set of tubes whose function is to make the sperm mature.

On the other hand there are the internal parts, being all those that can be found inside the male reproductive system. The internal parts of this appliance are as follows:
- Seminal vesicles: They are capable of producing a viscous liquid that stops the acidity of the urethra. This liquid is a large component of semen, so it is very important for reproduction.
- Ejaculatory ducts: There are two ejaculatory ducts in all men, beginning where the vas deferens end and ending in the urethra. These ducts are where semen passes to reach the urethra.
- Prostate: It is an organ located between the rectum and the bladder, which produces a fluid that protects the sperm in the semen.
- Urethra: It is the tube through which urine leaves the body. In the case of men, it also allows the release of semen, having both an excretory and reproductive function.
- Bulbourethral glands: They are two glands located below the prostate, being capable of producing a liquid that neutralizes the acidic environment of the urethra, so that semen can pass through it without danger.
