However, the real idea of him is to tell a series of stories about love whose real purpose is a moralizing work.
The book of good love Belongs to Mester of clergy from the 14th century, composed between the years 1330 and 1343. In other words, it is made up of irregular verses that do not always conform to the convenience of the movement. It would be more of a miscellany that includes songs, fables and sermons. Prologue of the Book of Good Love.
We begin the summary of Good love book with his prologue, which is separated from the rest of the work by thisr written in prose. Here, the Archpriest of Hita makes a kind of declaration of intent, stating that he writes from prison, probably in reference to earthly life.
In the prologue, Juan Ruiz points out a series of indications that imply the reader to carry out a reading and correct interpretation of the book. Let us remember that it is a work that seeks a moralizing end in people. And to achieve this, it includes prayers to God and the Virgin and even a popular tale with a final moral, as we will observe in the other stories.
Remember that the book talks about good love, to learn to differentiate the good from the bad, from the relationship, from debauchery and vice, from virtuosity and respect for women, etc.
Finally, introduce a series of examples that summarize the good love, which will be the search for him from that moment on. For this, he will have a partner and messenger, Fernand Garçía. In these stories we observe a man who tries to win over a lady through gifts to achieve sexual favor, to which she refuses, because he does not want to lose divine favor.

Introduction to the Book of good love.
We begin this summary of the Good Love Book speaking of the narration that begins the play. It is a dispute between Don Amor and the Archpriest himself. To do this, the author imagines a conversation with a higher being after reaching the conclusion that love is a destructive act capable of driving any man crazy.
And while the writer narrates the tale of the donkey and the horse To describe human arrogance, Don Amor uses Ovid adapting to Ars Amandi, very popular at the time, including examples of how she has to be the perfect woman on a physical level, from face to body.
Archpriest receives the advice to be guided by a matchmaker, a kind of "witch" who makes potions to love and fall in love. And this is how he explains to the author the virtues that the perfect lady must present, like she is sane at home, but somewhat crazy in bed, as well as the behavioral lessons that every man has to show in front of a woman, without lying to her and talking to her about love.
Don Melón and Mrs. Endrina.
As the narrative progresses in the form of independent but concatenated stories or adventures, the most famous one now plays, with Don Melón and Mrs. Endrina as protagonists.
This central story is actually an adaptation of a 12th century novel, Pamphilus. In it, Don Melón looks for a counselor to contact with Doña Endrina, but finally discovers that the best in this work is God, who guides his heart with wisdom.
Be that as it may, the matchmaker talks to Dona Endrina to accept Don Melón as her husband. The interview is satisfactory with a previous love affair, or so it is believed, since there is a void in this part of the book that has been lost. However, to cleanse the honor of the woman, the marriage is confirmed. Although the objective is achieved, it has been based on bad arts.
The latest stories from the Book of Good Love.
And we finish this summary of the Good Love Book with the latest stories, not as famous as the previous one. The first of them incorporates a series of adventures with mountains, such as the Chata, totally comical. Use vulgar language to show a girl who directly asks for a compensatory gift in exchange for love.
Fleeing from Somosierra, he meets another mountain woman who also asks for gifts in exchange for sex, a girl who intimidates him and makes him give in.
Then comes the combat of Don Carnal and Dona Cuaresma, which are fought in a medieval duel being two concepts. The first gathers a great army, but the love of the troops for wine and food makes them arrive in bad condition at the battle, for which Dona Cuaresma conquers and takes Don Carnal prisoner, who has to do penance for his absolution.
Afterwards, we observe other shorter adventures, accompanied by examples and fables, and again with Jogging, the matchmaker. First he fails trying to convince a widow, then with the nun Gaorça, which finally does not break his vows, and ends with a blackberry, which ends with the final lesson of good love.
