Conjunctions and their classification
In this video I will explain conjunctions and their classification.
As we saw in previous classes, compound sentences are characterized by having more than one verb and by joining simple sentences by means of LINKS. These links as we will see today, are mostly conjunctions or conjunctive locutions, in many other cases we will speak of adverbs with conjunctive value or other links.
The conjunctions They are invariable words (without gender / number) whose function is to relate words, phrases or sentences.
Conjunctive phrases: Groups of words with a single syntactic function and meaning.
According to the relationship established between the sentences, we speak of:
- Coordinating conjunctions (they relate sentences or phrases at the same level).
- Subordinate conjunctions (establish hierarchies, syntactic dependence).
