Steps to classify simple sentences
In the previous videos we have been working on all the types of simple sentences according to different classifications. If you need to remember them, watch this video: types of simple sentences. In this video I will explain the steps to follow to classify simple sentences.
To classify the simple sentences we will have to follow the following steps:
- We will first look at the mode of prayer: if you are enunciating something to us (enunciative), if you are expressing feelings (exclamatory), if you are asking us a question (interrogative), giving an order (imperative), etc ...
- Then we will look at the nature of predicate: We will observe if the sentence is attributive (verb to be, to be or to seem) or if it is another type of verb (predicative). If the sentence is predicative we will see if it is active or passive.
- Finally, we will observe the nature of the Subject: if it is a personal or impersonal prayer.
You will understand these steps much better with the video since I explain them from some very clear examples. Also, if you want
