Difference between cultism and latinism

In this video I will explain what the difference between cultism and latinism. For this, I give you the definitions of the two terms:

  • What is a cultism: are those words that have entered the language directly from Latin or Greek when it was formed (the language had already passed the phonetic changes). For this reason, cultisms are very similar to Latin. Examples: jaws, return, land ...
  • What is a Latinism: are those Latin words or expressions that have come to our language in the form and meaning they had in that language and that are used very frequently on occasions. We have two types of latinisms: crude or unadapted latinisms Y adapted latinisms. Examples: agenda, curriculum vitae, ultimatum ...
