Spelling rules for prefixes attached to the lexeme
In today's video I will explain the prefixes attached to the lexeme. We will accentuate a word that is derived as if it were a new word. We will follow the accentuation rules. There are five rules for knowing how to stress prefixes attached to the lexeme:
- We join the prefix to the lexeme whenever it is universal (single word). In the case that they are words pluriverbals we will put the prefix separated.
- When we try to coordinate two derived words with prefixes that are universal, we must write the first prefix with a hyphen and the second without.
- In the case that we are creating proper names, the capital letter happens at the beginning.
- Vowel reduction: The final vowel of the prefix and the initial vowel of the suffix are the same, in this case it is merged. In this rule there are two misunderstandings that we have to take into account.
- Sum of prefixes: we will weld a prefix together with others as long as the lexeme is universal.
