What are polygons
In this video I will explain what is a polygon. To be a little clearer about what they are, you have to read the following explanation and watch the video.
Polygons are bounded surfaces formed by different finite lines that close a region on a plane. Vertices of polygons are the point where two segments or lines meet at an angle.
As we have said before, polygons can be formed by several sides that end up closing a region on a plane, therefore, the minimum number of sides that a polygon can have is three and the maximum is infinite. The minimum is three since it is impossible for two straight lines to end up closing a region on the plane.
In the following image you can see the main polygons according to the number of sides.
In the video I explain in detail the rest of the characteristics that the polygons. Also, if you want to practice what you have learned in today's video, you can do the printable exercises with their solutions that I have left you on the web.
