# What are polygons

**click fraud protection**

In this video I will explain **what is a polygon. **To be a little clearer about what they are, you have to read the following explanation and watch the video.

Polygons are bounded surfaces formed by different finite lines that close a region on a plane. **Vertices** of polygons are the point where two segments or lines meet at an angle.

As we have said before, polygons can be formed by several sides that end up closing a region on a plane, therefore, the minimum number of sides that a polygon can have is three and the maximum is infinite. The minimum is three since it is impossible for two straight lines to end up closing a region on the plane.

In the following image you can see the main polygons according to the number of sides.

In the video I explain in detail the rest of the characteristics that the **polygons**. Also, if you want to practice what you have learned in today's video, you can do the printable exercises with their solutions that I have left you on the web.
