Concepts to understand the Spanish civil war

In this video I will explain some concepts to the Spanish Civil War. It is important to know these concepts in order to understand the Spanish Civil War.

In this video you will know different definitions:

Republic: state organization whose highest authority is elected by citizens or by Parliament for a specified period. (Situation in which Spain was before the war.)

Dictatorship: In modern times, a political regime that, by force or violence, concentrates all power in one person or sometimes in a group or organization and represses human rights and individual freedoms (Situation after the Civil War in Spain.)

Coup: It is the seizure of political power through violence and suddenly.

Once we are clear about these concepts, we are going to place ourselves, in the two camps that were formed in Spain once the civil war broke out:

  • The Republican side (The Reds)
  • The revolted side / Francoist side

We will also know the support or non-support of the other countries and the non-intervention committee by watching the video.
