Nomenclature of hydrogen with other non-metals
In this video I will explain the nomenclature of hydrogen compounds and other non-metals. These compounds, in aqueous solution, do not show acid behavior, like the hydracids.
- H + N, P, As group 15: + 3
- H + C, If group 14: + 4
- H + B group 13: + 3
- Hydrogen: -1.
In this case, hydrogen is the most electronegative. While the others are less electronegative.
There are two forms of nomenclature. Let's start with the systematics. The most electronegative element is named first. Instead of hydrogen, we will also name the valence, with the prefixes: Tri / tetra ...
NOMENCLATURE STRUCTURE:
How many hydrogens are there (pref.) + Hydride + element name.
Most compounds have common names (eg. ammonia).
In the video you will be able to see the nomenclature of hydrogen compounds and other non-metals. But if you are not completely clear about it, you can continue practicing with problems of this type by doing the printable exercises with their solutions that I have left you on the web. Good luck in your studies!
