Simple and oxysal salts nomenclature
In this video I am going to explain the nomenclature of simple and oxysal salts.
Which is a Salt?
It is a compound formed by a cation and an anion. It is also true that a salt is one of the reaction products of an acid and a base.
Cation + anion = salt
The difference between simple salts and the oxysales is the type of anion it contains.
In the case of simple salts, its anion is formed by a mono atomic negative ion, that is, formed by a single element. On the other hand, in the case of oxysales, the anion is made up of more than one atom, it is a pluriatomic ion (an element and oxygen).
Let us remember that the chemical nomenclature, is the set of rules or formulas used to name all chemical elements and compounds.
In the video we will see the procedure of the nomenclaturesimple and oxysal salts with concrete examples.
But if you are not completely clear about it, you can continue practicing with problems of this type by doing the printable exercises with their solutions that I have left on the web. Good luck in your studies!
