What are the adverbs of FREQUENCY
The frequency adverbs they are an essential grammatical category for the Spanish language. During the day you use them quite often and if you change them in a sentence, it may take on a totally different meaning.
In this lesson from a PROFESSOR we want to explain in detail what are adverbs of frequency and we're going to put some examples so you can see it more clearly.
The adverbs they are invariable words, that is, they do not change depending on gender or number, but are always used in the same way. In a sentence, the adverbs modify and specify the verb.
Adverbs tend to cause a lot of confusion, since it is very common to find them in sentences and they can be many different categories: of place, of manner, of frequency, etc.
But then, what exactly are adverbs of frequency?
The frequency adverbs they mean that, the way in which it modifies the meaning of the sentence is by explaining how often does it take place what is being explained. That is, it is usually used to indicate the number of repetitions or how often the events that are being narrated occur.
If we add an adverb of frequency to a sentence, this will change its meaning. For example: the sentence "Mary buys strawberries" is not the same as the sentence "Mary always buys strawberries". The particle always, which is the adverb of frequency, tells us that María repeats this action regularly.
In other words, adverbs of frequency are used to indicate the frequency or degree of frequency with which we do something. They can go before the sentence, after the sentence or they can go alone.
