Uses of se: the pronominal se
In this video I will explain the uses of se; he is pronominal.
First we must differentiate if it is a use pronominal or non-pronominal.
BE PRONOMINAL:
- SE variant of le / les based on CI: The CI pronoun is replaced by SE when two 3rd person pronouns of Sg or Pl coincide.
- SE reflective based on CD / CI: A SN that matches the subject SN is replaced. The pronoun admits the reinforcement of oneself / herself.
- SE reciprocal based on CD / CI: In reciprocal sentences in which two subjects appear that execute the same action on each other. They admit each other, each other.
- SE dative of interest, ethical or emphatic: It is an SE that reinforces the participation or involvement of the subject in the action. It is analyzed as part of the verb, it can be removed from the sentence, without losing its meaning.
-SE as a pronominal verb: It is analyzed as part of the verb, it does not have a CD or CI function, if it is eliminated from the sentence it is ungrammatical, it can carry CRV.
